Programming Firstech/Compustar RF

Can't get my Evo One to program when pushing the valet button with the ignition on. LED does not flash. Can't get into the program mode. I enabled Firstech in flashlink on the remote start settings of the Evo One. I followed the instructions to swap the 4 antenna wires and install the antenna. I can't even get the unit to enter programming mode with the RF kit disconnected. What am I doing wrong? Could my evo one have an internal problem. My vehicle is a 2008 Nissan Frontier and I'm using a NIS2 t harness.  I even checked the settings and firmware and also completely reset everything.

The EVO-ONE will not allow you to enter programming when it is armed. To disarm it, since you don't have any programmed remotes, you need to put the system in valet mode. To do this, Turn ignition On and press the Valet button 3 times then turn ignition off. There will be a red light that will light up on the back of the unit (where the Yellow loop is). If it doesn't turn on, try again.

It should also be noted that certain Firstech remotes need a special firmware, in any case, flash the EVO-ONE remote starter firmware to 0.96 (remember this is on the remote starter side of the EVO-ONE)

When turning ignition on does the yellow led on the evo one lights up ?

After turning ignition on you have to press and hold the valet switch (not the button on the module) within the first 5 seconds and hold it for another good 5 seconds. The led that will flash is on the side of the module right under the yellow loop.

The yellow LED stays on even with the ignition off. Status of the yellow led never changes. I've tried unplugging and plugging it back in. If I unplug and hold the program button I can get it to cycle through the blue red then yellow. If I release it at red then the yellow comes on also. I've checked connections. The only pysical connections I've made to my vehicle were to the lock, unlock, and Can High and CAn low which were soldered in. I assume once the bypass has been programmed to my vehicle and can't be programmed again. Or am I wrong? I'll try the first five seconds with ignition on.

You will need to check the PINK wire on the Main 6 pin harness with a voltmeter to see if there is 12v positive on that wire constantly which would explain why the yellow led is always on and why you can't program the unit since it does not see the ignition cycle ON and OFF.

You also have to make sure that you are switching between modes: bypass and remote starter with your Evo-One unplugged from the Flashlink-2 updater.  The way your options look, it would seem that the unit was programmed in the wrong mode. Try to do a master reset on the bypass side by following these steps: http://wirecolor.com/en/qa/50193/faq-how-do-i-reset-my-evo-all?show=50193#q50193 and reflash the remote starter and bypass firmwares in the correct connection mode: bypass or remote starter

I don't have 12v at pink, only with the vehicles ignition on, the only main harness wire I have 12v on with ignition off is Red.  I also attempted to master reset both bypass and remotestart sides on the evo one I also reflashed firmware on both bypass and remote start. I checked to make sure the unit isn't in valet mode which nothing happens with the led. Yellow led stays on all of the time including with the vehicles ignition switch off. The only way to turn the yellow led off is to unplug the main harness plug. I'm beginning to think something is wrong internally with the unit.
I would suggest calling tech support directly as it will be easier to see where the problem is. Number is 1-877-336-7797.

You also need firmware 0.96 for newer generation Firstech Remotes. Your unit is still at 1.15, #002b05018115

I would also check the voltage on yellow wire from the 20-pin white connector. You should be seeing 12V only when the key is on.

Where is the yellow wire in the 20 pin harness of the Evo-One connected to?
