12v wire on evo all 2018 silverado

0 votes
In the instructions for a stand alone install on a 2018 Silverado it shows to cut the 12v and ground wires and connect them to the vehicle source if no RF kit is used. Is this necessary? I intend to use a fortin 2 way rf kit in the near future. Also there are not clear instructions on hooking up the valet switch. Where does this go? Also can i setup the rf kit function when i first flash the module and then hook up the rf kit later or will that prevent the 3x lock function from working on the factory remote? Thanks

Dont cut anything. Unit will power itself from the harness. That "without rf-kit" note should not be in that guide.

You can setup your evo with the rf option beforehand, yes. 3xlock will work all the time.

Make sure the RF-KIT in question has the RF-A2A adaptor.

The valet on/off switch connects to ground on one end and to the dark blue wire on the other end. When the switch is in the OFF (Valet OFF) position, the starter will function.
