It actually chimes once the door is opened after shutting off the engine, removing the key and exiting the vehicle.

I would have to try removing the 20 pin connector while its chiming. I have not done any trouble shooting on my own.

It's going to help narrow down where the problem may be coming from.

 

To me at the moment, it sounds like the parking light connection may be on the wrong wire. Besides for leaving the key in the barrel, the only other reason your door chimes should ring is because the vehicle thinks the lights are on.
