speed between lock button presses

Question

when i hit the lock button on the factory remote 3 times some times the car starts some times it doesnt , is there a certain speed or rhythem to pushing the lock button? this is on a 2013 chev cruze with the EVO-GMT1.

I generally tell people to leave a 1 mississippi pause between each lock press.
