Evo All takes over while driving and pressing a button on the RF remote

0 votes
While driving at night noticed that when I press the lock button on my Fortin RF remote the lights on my vehicle will completly shut off causing a very dangerous situation. For some reason the Evo All takes over even when I'm on the road . My set up is an Evo All with Thar harness with a Fortin RF kit installed on a vehicle with push button ignition. Any suggestions ?

Not that it answer your question but.....Is there a specific reason you are locking the vehicle with the rf kit while driving?

No reason , I installed this years ago and never notice the issue until the other day with the remote in my pocket I moved and certain way and the vehicle locked and my lights turned off. Figured it was a pcm issue maybe but then figured out it was the remote start . It does it every time , lock will turn the lights off and unlock will blink the lights .
I can think of two easy and quick work arounds off the top of my head:

1- lock the key pad of the remote when not in use. You can refer to the user guide on how this is done: https://fortin.ca/en/technology/rf_kits.html

2- turn off door lock option (a1) inside the evo so that it just no longer sends door lock commands.
Locking the keypad on my remote works for me , didn't know it was an option. That's what I will be doing from now on .

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question and fiding a solution that works for me .
