Disable CX-9 Horn for 3x Lock

+1 vote
I recently completed the install of the EVO-ONE on 2019 CX-9. However, with the 3x lock the horn beeps and will drive my neighbors crazy. Can the horn be disabled? I tried the lock/unlock/lock procedure but the mirrors will unfold and refold each time. thanks.

This is a feature of the vehicle. Check your owners manual or contact your local mazda dealer.

I had the same issue. I changed the option to use Lock-Unlock-Lock I don't remember what option number it was but as I recall it was near the end of the remote start options. I'm not a fan of issuing an unlock command but it's brief.

I have the opposite: I don't have the horn activation when locking using the key fob. I've installed the evo-one and everything is working fine. I just want to know if there is a certain wire that I can connect. My model is 2018 CX-9.
Yes, Orange/Black wire on the 20 pin connector should be the (-) Horn output. Connect it to the vehicle (-) horn wire and when you lock with the after market remote, it will honk the horn at the same time as lock. It will only work through the aftermarket remote.

The owners manual has information regarding activating / deactivating beeping.

Thank you very much, Derek. Does the vehicle (-) horn wire have the same color as the Orange/Black wire on the 20 pin connector? If there is a detailed wiring diagram for the evo-one remote starter for CX-9 2018, it will be very helpful. Appreciate your helpful comment.

No it is not the same wire color as the evo-one, it should be a blue wire at the clock spring connector on the steering column. Test before connecting.

Also, this will not make the horn honk from the OEM remote. This will only work from an RF kit.

If you want horn honk from the OEM remote, refer to the owners manual or the link rob posted above for this feature.

Thank you very much, Derek. I do have the evo-one and it does support the OEM remote just like here at 00:42 - 00:50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7r-sqoNIdM

If I may ask, Derek, do you have any diagram or some picture for the horn diagram and connecting it to the evo-one for the cx-9 2018 ? Much appreciated.
No unfortunately I do not have a diagram on how to connect a wire.
Thank you very much. Much appreciated for your helpful comments.
