Will an Omega Echo-3 2-way upgrade kit work with EVO-CHR.T5?

I installed the EVO-CHR.T5 on a 2009 Dodge Caliber. I am using it as a stand alone x3 remote starter. I want to increase the range so I purchased an Omega echo-3 2-way upgrade kit. Your website indicates that EVO-CHR-.T5 works with most RF kits on the market and also lists Omega. However now that I have the new Omega rf kit, it doesnt look compatible.

Thank you for the quick response, but I found your answer to be very generic. I did review the guide you mention prior to purchasing the RF kit, however once I received the kit it is apparent that the wiring shown and described in the guide does not match the actual unit. The guide shows 1 connector with 6 wires. The Omega echo-3 has 3 connectors and a total of 7 wires. Addditionally I noticed that the title of the guide refers to Audiovox and Omega rf kits, however within the instuctions it only describes Audiovox. Am I to assume that ALL Audiovox and Omega RF units ever made are the same. If you know for certain that this specific model of RF kit will work, great. I will attempt to wire the unit. If you are not aware of anyone using this model or if it has not been tested, I would like to know that too. I would rather return the unit now rather than waste time, risk damage or lose money when I cant return it.

The tech that made the guides did it after testing the Rf-Kits we list on the page linked previously. The model we had tested was the Excalibur.

 

If I look in the installation guide for your Echo-3 model. It looks more like an antenna that needs a host Omega remote starter brain. The 3 connectors you mentionned are for

  • data communication
  • LED
  • valet button on the antenna.

It seems as though that kit, Echo-3, is to upgrade a current installation that has an Omega remote starter brain with only 1 way remotes. The user with this upgrade would then get 2-way remotes.

The Audiovox model is FLRF

Am I to assume that ALL Audiovox and Omega RF units ever made are the same.

Don't assume anything. We have them in the same guide because their set up when connecting to an EVO-ALL would be the same.

 

 

I returned the Echo-3 rf kit and purchased an Omega Excalibur RF-50-edp. I have installed the unit according to the help file and some assistance from a tech over the phone. The remotes work very well with the antenna, but communication from the antenna unit to the evo are not consistent. The lock and unlock always work, but the remote start only works about 1 time out of 10. The 2-way remote thinks the car is running and the antenna flashes as if the car is running, but it is not. Do you have any suggestions? Would I be better served to install a remote start unit instead of using the evo in stand-alone mode? Thanks again for the help you have provided.
Quick test would be to use the yellow/black wire on the EVO. It's an external trigger input, meaning, the vehicle will start or stop when the yellow/black wire sees a ground pulse.

Also, what is the 12 digit service number of the EVO-ALL?
Since I dont have an actual remote start unit, how do I use the yellow/black wire? The service number is 001A06 341203.

You can use that wire to test the remote starter. You can also use your OEM remote, by pressing 3x the lock button to test.

  • jump the yellow/black wire to ground (1-2 secs) to activate the remote starter
  • jump the yellow/black again to stop the remote starter

 

If the above does not work, make sure the purple wire of the Tharness is properly connected to the green/red wire of the T-harness.
